Today we drove from Edirne which is close to the border of Bulgaria and Turkey to Istanbul app. 250 km. The traffic getting into Istanbul is chaotic to say the least, every driver thinks that he is driving a formula one car and has to overtake you, so we also got into the spirit of this. It was not easy to find out hotel in down town Istanbul, so in the end for the last few km we had to hire a taxi. Our car is now parked in a very narrow alley behind our hotel, and there is not much more space for any fat Turk to walk past. Checked into our hotel which seems o.k. the internet is not working which is bad. Went out and saw the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. It almost makes you feel like you are in India. Went out for dinner and got cheated again, these guys here are thieves they rip you of for everything, since Daniel wanted prawns we bargained and got the price down, but then these guys charge you for bread, the plate you are eating from etc. you soon have to pay for the chair you are sitting on.
I dag kørte vi fra Edirne til Istanbul en tur på ca. 250 km. Det var ikke så ligetil at finde vores hotel i centrum af Istanbul. Trafikken er slem her og gaderne er smalle, slet ikke beregnet på så megen trafik, nå vi fandt endelig vores hotel og fik parkeret i en lille sidegade med biler både foran og bagved vores bil, så vi skal ikke lige ud og køre med det samme. Istanbul er spændende, vi gik ud og fandt noget frokost, derefter gik vi op til den blå moske og en lille tur rundt i basaren. Vores hotel siger de har Internet, men jeg kan kun få det til at virke nede i lobbyen, så det er lidt surt. Så blev vi igen snydt da vi bestilte aftensmad, Daniel har i flere dage snakket om rejer, så nu skulle det være, prisen for reje retten fik Michael forhandlet ned på 5 Euro, men så var restauranten altså lynhurtig til at få solgt os brød, vand, 2 forretter, salat m.m. som hver især koster et eller andet, vi var sikre på at regningen ikke ville være over 25 Euro, men den var på 40, øv, fra nu af skal vi have alle priser, inden vi siger ja til noget.
