29.09.09

Got up this morning and had breakfast at the 6th floor of our hotel, with the view of snow capped mountains in the back ground. We decided to take the car to Nissan after breakfast, for a check up. Shit, the car did not start at the first try, after 3 tries she fired into life, and we found out later that the temperature last night had fallen to -5 degree Celsius. We drove to the Nissan work shop with a helpful Turk to show us the way. These guys checked the whole car inclusive of oil, airfilters etc. and did not charge us a dime. They were very helpful, and were pretty impressed that the car was from India. I was pretty embarrassed to leave the workshop since they refused any payment. Life is full of surprises. Went out for lunch to a strange antic restaurant, this place was filled with antics from the Ottoman period and is as big as a football field. We almost got lost walking around in this restaurant. After lunch Daniel bought a pair of shoes (a present from Grand mum), and Susanne a multi coloured scarf. We walked back in the biting cold to our hotel. This evening, we drank up all the alcohol we had, since Mummy is leaving for India tomorrow, and we are of to the border to Iran. Had a great dinner and afterwards Baklava at a café for dessert. Daniel was most impressed at the waitress, but I think she was smiling more at me, even though Susanne paid the bill. It did not feel that cold tonight; it must be all the alcohol in my system.
Mummy will be leaving tomorrow morning to India, and we are off to the border to Iran. It is a shame she is leaving, she has been a god sport, and we are all pretty impressed with how she took the trip with millions of steps, walks, monuments and hours of car driving. Not bad for her maybe she will join us for our Africa trip.
